The cancellation of the 4-up team time trial left a number of riders looking around at the last minute for a course to ride. Abertillery Wheelers and Pontypool RCC combined their events to run a 25 on the sporting R25/7a, which resulted in twenty riders signing on to contest the event.
The westerly breeze made the run out to Mitchell Troy harder then usual, but this did little to slow down the riders at the sharp end of the results board. M&D Cycles team mates, Gary Jones and Andy Bowd took the first two steps on the podium, with only three seconds between them. In third place was Abertillery's Clinton Evans, with the fastest Pontypool rider, Chris Jones, coming home in fifth.
