A good turnout for the final club Sunday 25 of 2006, saw three riders go below the hour on a testing course that was made more difficult by the annoying side wind that troubled the riders on the Abergavenny to Raglan section.
Former Abertillery Wheeler, Derek Rogers, narrowly beat his M&D Cycles team mate Gary Jones to post an excellent final time of 57-11. Ian Davies was the first Wheeler home in 59-35 and was the only club member to go under.
Alastair Morgan, M&D Cycles, riding the course for the first time made the fatal mistake of asking Martin Latewood for directions. He somehow managed to make his way to the finish, but from the wrong direction!
