A few pics by Ian Davies of the recent trip to see the Gent 6 day.

Tragically, during the race on Sunday, Madison world champion Isaac Galvez was killed following a collision with Belgian Dimitri de Fauw. As a mark of respect, the rest of the racing was cancelled

Galvez won gold with Joan Llaneras at this year's world championships in Bordeaux, having also won the title seven years earlier.

Track specialist Galvez rode for Kelme between 2000 and 2003 before switching to the Illes Balears-Caisse d'Epargne team.
