The day was very cold, and the wind fought by the riders on the section from Hafodyrynys to Pontypool was strong. Making times slow. Visitor, Andrew Butcher, amazed everyone with an excptional performance in the adverse conditions, clocking 23m.54s, to be wellover three minutes clear of second placed Ross Phillips.
