Ras De Cymru

Julian needs some help to marshall the Ras De Cymru from the 28th June
to 2nd July. If you are free on some of these days and can help out, get
in touch with Julian.
The 396 mile Welsh stage race, the Ras de Cymru, is 'Regional A' status
event for 2/3/4/Junior/Women category riders that takes place between
Wednesday the 28th of June and Sunday the 2nd of July.
The event is 5 days long with 6 stages that the event has never been
used before including a mountain top finish stage for the last stage!
The race's cash prize fund has been increased by 33% and by 100% for the
winner and the emphasis will be on teams. If a rider enters as an individual,
they will be placed in a team and composite teams will be eligible for
the team award in 2006.
The stages are:
Wednesday, 28th June 15.00: Time Trial - Caerleon (4 miles)
Thursday, 29th June 13.00: Road Race - Abergaveny/Rockfield Circuit (72 miles)
Friday, 30th June 10.30: Brecon Circuit - (50 miles)
Saturday, 1st July 10.30: TTT - Cowbridge (7.4 miles)
Saturday, 1st July 13.45: Road Race - Cowbridge/Barry/Wick Circuit (63 miles)
Sunday, 2nd July 10.30: Llangynidyr Course - (51 miles)
Sunday, 2nd July 3.30-4.00 Prize Presentation
The event headquarters will be at the University of Wales, Newport Sport Centre,
Lodge Rd, Caerleon, Newport, Gwent in Wales (NP18 3YG). The Sports Centre has
changing, toilet and shower facilities.
