Welsh Cyclo-Cross League Rnd 6 Margam Park

Three members of the club took part in the cyclo-cross race at Margam Park on the weekend. A late change of course due to the large numbers of caravans parked on the cross circuit, resulted in a course that was more suited to MTB's than cross bikes.

Eliot Williams riding in the youth race was well placed until a series of crashes saw him slip back through the field to eventually finish in 10th place. The youth race was won by Sam Harrison, Newport Phoenix.

In the senior race, a good start by Tony Hudson saw him open a sizeable gap on Gareth Chislett, but he narrowly failed in his main objective of catching Lyn Lines (Gateway RT) and Clive Powell (Team Dirty Weekend). Tony finished in 21st with Gareth just behind in 25th place. The senior race was won by Lee Williams, CC Abergavenny who looks favourite to make it a triple series of victories in next weeks race held on his home circuit in Abergavenny.
